Technician), Program Assistant (Computer), Assistant, Stenographer Grade III, Driver, and Supporting Staff Grade I positions under Assam Agricultural University's Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVKs). 1. Senior Scientist-cum-Head
# Number of positions: 07
# Salary: Rs. 1,31,400/- (Level 13A in Pay Matrix, 7th Pay, according to ICAR standards).
# Required Qualifications: A doctoral degree in a relevant field such as Agriculture, Animal Science, Fisheries, Community Science, Horticulture, or Sericulture, along with 8 years of experience (not including the time spent earning the Ph.D.) in a related area as a Scientist, Lecturer, Extension Specialist, or in a comparable role within Pay Band 3 (Rs. 15,600/- to Rs. 39,100/-) with grade pay ranging from Rs. 5,400/- to Rs. 8,000/- (as per the 6th CPC report). Candidates should have made contributions to research, teaching, or extension education, demonstrated by published work, innovations, and their impact.
2. Subject Matter Specialist

# Salary: Rs. 56,100/- (Level 10 in the Pay Matrix, 7th Pay, according to ICAR standards).
# Required Qualification: A Master's degree in Agriculture, Community Science, or Fisheries Science from a recognized university.
3. Farm Manager (T4)

# Salary: Rs.35,400/- (Level 6 in Pay Matrix, 7th Pay, according to ICAR standards)
# Required Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Fishery Science, Horticulture, or Sericulture from a recognized university.
4. Programme Assistant (Lab Technician) (T4)
# Number of positions: 03
# Salary: Rs.35,400/- (Level 6 in Pay Matrix, 7th Pay, according to ICAR standards).
# Required Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Fishery Science, Community Science, Horticulture, or Sericulture from a recognized university.
5. Programme Assistant (Computer) (T4)
# Number of positions: 01
# Salary: Rs. 35,400/- (Level 6 in Pay Matrix, 7th Pay, according to ICAR standards).
# Required Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (Computer Science/Computer Application/Information Technology) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
6. Assistant
# Number of positions: 03
# Salary: Rs. 35,400/- (Level 6 in Pay Matrix, 7th Pay, according to ICAR standards).
# Required Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university, along with 5 years of work experience in accounts and administration.
7. Stenographer Grade-III
# Number of positions: 04
# Salary: Rs. 25,500/- (Level 4 in Pay Matrix, 7th Pay, according to ICAR standards).
# Required Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and a working knowledge of computers (minimum 6 months Diploma in Computer Application).
Professional Skills: Candidates will undergo a dictation test in English at a speed of 80 words per minute for 10 minutes, followed by a requirement to transcribe the content on a computer within 50 minutes.
8. Driver (T1)
# Number of positions: 01
# Salary: Rs. 21,700/- (Level 3 in Pay Matrix, 7th Pay, according to ICAR standards).
# Required Qualifications:
- Completion of HSLC or equivalent examinations from a recognized board.
- A valid driving license for both heavy (e.g., tractor, power tiller) and light vehicles from the appropriate authority (candidates must pass a practical driving test conducted by a designated committee of the university).
- A minimum of two years of driving experience.
9. Supporting Staff – Grade – I at KVKs
# Number of Positions: 02
# Salary: Rs. 18,000/- (Level 3 in Pay Matrix, 7th Pay, according to ICAR standards)
# Required Qualification: Completion of Matriculation or equivalent, or ITI certification.
Age Restrictions:
# The maximum age limit for the Senior Scientist-cum-Head position is 47 years as of 01.01.2024. However, there is no upper age limit for current employees of AAU.
# The maximum age limit for the positions of Subject Matter Specialist, Programme Assistant (Lab Technician), Programme Assistant (Computer), and Farm Manager is 38 years as of 01.01.2024.
# The maximum age limit for Assistant, Stenographer Grade-III, Driver, and Supporting Staff positions is 40 years as of 01.01.2024.
# Age relaxation for candidates from reserved categories will follow the Government of Assam's regulations.
Application Fee: A non-refundable application fee must be paid online. The fee is Rs. 1000/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates. If payment cannot be completed by the deadline due to technical issues, candidates may pay the application fee by 4 PM on 07-01-2025 and finalize their application.
